What is TimeBank all about?

TimeBank is simply about spending an hour of your time helping someone in your community. That hour goes into your TimeBank account as a Time Dollar credit. You now have a Time Dollar to spend on having someone doing something for you.

It’s a simple idea, but one that has a powerful ripple effect in building community connections. Each local TimeBank (like your Hokonui one) has a website where you list what you would like to do for other members. You can look up TimeBank services online or ask a community coordinator to do it for you. You earn Time Dollars for each service you perform and then you can spend it on whatever you want or need from the listings.

With Hokonui TimeBank, you will be working with a small group of committed individuals who are joined together for a common good. It connects you to the best in people because it creates a system that connects unmet needs with untapped resources. To see what happens - each week when you are part of TimeBank is deeply fulfilling, especially if you are helping to make it run.

How can I support TimeBank?

There are numerous ways you can support Hokonui TimeBank and ensure our future success. At this stage of our development we really would appreciate cash donations.

You can make a donation at any branch of Westpac Bank or via online banking.

If you would like to make cash donations on a regular basis, you can print, then fill out the Automatic Payment form and give it to your bank. Any donation is much appreciated and like all charitable donations they are tax deductible.
